Beginner’s Guide to Financial Projections – Required Course Materials

Before you begin The Beginner’s Guide to Financial Projections, you will need to download two documents: the The Sample Business Case Study Packet and the Workbook for the course.

You may find it beneficial to print these documents for reference while viewing the course.

Download Sample Business Case Study Packet here

Sample Business Case Study Packet

Every time you see the checklist icon (shown), refer to the sample business case study packet to see detailed examples of financial projections.

Throughout the course modules, you will hear from business owners Mateo Lee of MasAi – a current catering business owner who is looking to add a food cart to the business – and River Greenaway, who is looking to open Forest Friends Early Childhood Learning Center.

Mateo and River will tell you their stories throughout the class, and will reference the documents in the sample business case study packet, which is the financial information they submitted to their lenders.  These documents help you see how all of the financial projections pieces fit together. If possible, we recommend printing the sample case study packet for reference as you go.

Course Workbook

Every time you see the workbook icon (shown at right) and a corresponding workbook section in the course module, you will have the opportunity to apply the concepts you are learning in the course to your own business.

By completing the workbook, you will have determined many of the necessary inputs you will need to create financial projections. This document is a fillable PDF, which you can complete electronically or print out and complete by hand.
